Trump and Democrats on immigration

A friend notes:

I watched both Trump's speech and the Democrats response to it last night. From both of these you would hardly know that large scale iron "fences," as they are currently called exist, since it is not in the interests of either to admit this. Now that Trump has agreed to the Democrats' demand that the "wall" be iron rather than concrete, one might think that the Democrats would come up with a proposed budget for completing the fence/wall that they started.

It needs to be kept in mind that there is no section of the ruling class that has an interest in stemming all "illegal immigration," since those without papers can be exploited the most and turned into scapegoats.

One needs to see that this mad factionalism on the part of both the Democrats and Republicans has other roots, and cannot be found in what they are arguing about in public.
