The Brand New Colossus

As obama readies Gitmo for Haitians there is a need both to translate this sign to Creole, and to make a few changes to the plaque that graces the statue of liberty. In the circumstances, the Emma Lazarus poem required a few minor revisions. These are shown below.

The [Brand] New Colossus

Not Much like the brazen giant of Greek fame,

With conquering limbs astride from land to land;

Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand

A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame

Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name

Mother of Exiles Whore of Wall Street..

From her beacon bloodstained hand

Glows world-wide welcome disdain; her mild wild eyes command

The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.

"Keep Take ancient lands, your mock storied pomp!" cries she

With silent lips. "Give me Hold back your tired, your poor,

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

Send Keep these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me with thee,

I lift my lamp skirts beside the golden door!"
