['The Origins of Materialism', p.17.]<br /><br />However, it strikes me that much of his 'Introduction to the Logic of Marxism' is "validated by appeal to abstract reason, intuition, self-evidence or some other subjective or purely theoretical source."<br /><br />Even worse, Novack quotes not one single logic text (other than Hegel's) in support of his rather wild allegations about Formal Logic. He also ignores the revolution that Formal Logic has undergone in the last 150 years, to such an extent that Aristotelian Logic is now only of interest to antiquarians and those ignorant of these developments. Indeed, 99.9% of logic is now less than 150 years old.
